THE Dangote Group of Companies is to redirect its investment to Akwa Ibom State to key into the industrialisation policy of the state government, the Managing Director, Ubotex Nigeria Limited.
Mr. Ubong Obot, said after meeting with the President of Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, in Uyo on Tuesday, Obot did not mention the line of business Dangote was planning for the state. “I met with him not too long ago in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, and I know that he is planning big for the state; by the time he unfolds his plans for the state, Akwa Ibom will be great in terms of employment generation and wealth creation,” he said. He commended the state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, for the steps he had taken to industrialise the state by establishing a Technical Team on Foreign Direct Investment, adding that the initiative had begun to yield positive results in the state. Obot, however, lamented that most government establishments did not last long because of lack of control and supervision. He noted that any individual that failed to supervise his investment, could not expect bumper harvest in the years ahead. The director, who lamented the influx of young men into politics after graduation from the university, urged the state government to assist business entrepreneurs in the state by way of grants or tax relief to enable them to succeed in businesses.
According to Obot, most businesses in the state are folding up as they do not have the wherewithal to succeed. He urged the people of Akwa Ibom to support the industrialisation policy of the state government.
This an advise to our young entrepreneurs to sit up and start building their lives grabing examples from men like Dangote..not to go dey open churches...
